Masonic lodges existed in Iraq as early as 1917, when the primary lodge beneath the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) was opened. 9 lodges under UGLE existed with the nineteen fifties, and also a Scottish lodge was shaped in 1923. On the other hand, the position improved subsequent the revolution, and all lodges ended up forced to close in 1965.
